I was in Pulau Payar few years back and the regulations there was so tightly controlled that people are only allowed to dive/snorkel for a limited time. And visits on shore will only be allowed for a maximum of one hour or less. I was scarcely able to survey the underwater wildlife let alone the terrestrial ones. While I was aware of the environmentally sensitive area, I was really disappointed to hear that this sort of development happened to one of the Straits of Malacca's most pristine islands! Visitors and nature appreciators are not allowed to even set a firm foot to look at wildlife while some people are allowed to blatantly destroy the minute forest ecology all for the purpose of unsustainable economic development!JKhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13915767910311597056noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3382539233184523416.post-46513463322631302342010-01-03T04:48:00.307+08:002010-01-03T04:48:00.307+08:00realisticly, pulau payar is a sacrificial reef alr...realisticly, pulau payar is a sacrificial reef already. any organisation serious about conserving this reef would not allow the number of visitors they do, and would ban the feeding of any fish, let alone sharks. give thanks for the sacrifice, and allow it to protect the unvisited reefs...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3382539233184523416.post-63643478873802764072009-11-13T01:25:53.930+08:002009-11-13T01:25:53.930+08:00Hi The Itch Is Back;
